The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions on the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering companies such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency claimed it is alarmed regarding the high range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention of the Integrated Registration here Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a substantial amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This really is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office committed to service the area daily. The support position established for intervention experiences a substantial inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra assets to help the servicing of all customers and boost use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
